MedX medical equipment is recognized as the "Gold Standard" for treating and reducing chronic back pain and dysfunction through specific spinal strengthening. Weakness of the musculature of the spine can lead to many conditions such as herniated discs, facet syndrome, and degenerative joint disease. It is recommended for post-surgical rehabilitation, the average "sprain/strain" injury, and anyone suffering from chronic or acute low back and neck pain.
Unique padded restraint system neutralizes shoulder, arm and chest muscles while isolating waistline muscles. Separate system of padded restraints effectively locks the pelvis and prevents the hip and gluteus muscles from assisting in rotation of the torso. Increases strength and flexibility at the core of the body, making it a favorite among golf pros looking to increase club head speed.
Ben attended the University of North Dakota (UND) where he received his bachelor’s degree in Pre-Physical Therapy with a Minor in Psychology. He then continued on to The UND’s School of Medicine and Health Science where he received his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree. Ben’s thirst for knowledge did not stop with his graduation. He has attended numerous continuing education courses and classes and is now certified in McKenzie Diagnosis and Therapy and is a Certified Orthopedic Specialist. Less than 2% of all therapists in the country have these certifications. Ben is excited to help his patients recover from their injuries and return to their daily lives without pain or limitations.
Cams on strength training equipment need to support the strength curves in the body. The cams on most equipment are incorrect in this regard. On the MedX Lumbar Extension machine, for example, the cam/strength curve ratio is 1.4 to 1. That means that a normal lumbar muscle should be 1.4 times stronger in the flexed position than in the extended position. For example, if we put 100 pounds on the machine, then at the beginning of the movement you would be pushing 100 pounds. As you moved through the full range of motion to the fully extended position, the cam would be moving so that the weight would continue to lighten so that at the end of the movement that 100 pounds would have smoothly lightened to 71.4 pounds. Each muscle has a different natural strength curve so each piece of equipment should have a different cam. For example, if you put 140 pounds on the Leg Extension machine it would start at 120 pounds in the fully flexed position, increase to 150 pounds within the first fifty degrees, and then it would decrease to less than 50 pounds in the fully extended position. Each machine needs to be properly calibrated and designed to accommodate the muscle group it is targeting.

A graduate of Idaho State University’s 1995 Masters of Physical Therapy program, Paul has spent the last 18 years sharpening his skills as a therapist. Having practiced in hospitals (Pocatello, ID; Elko, NV; Bullhead City, AZ), a Worker’s Compensation specialty clinic (Tempe, AZ), and other sports medicine facilities have allowed for a broad exposure to the practice of physical therapy. His early passion for sports brought him from Southern California to Caldwell and the College of Idaho.

Ryan was raised in the small town of Burley, ID. Having grown up in a family construction company, his father instilled in him the importance of a hard work ethic. This work ethic was applied not only to school but also sports. He had the privilege of being part of a state basketball champion team but unfortunately, he became sidelined due to a knee injury. From that injury he was introduced to physical therapy and got his first experience as to how beneficial conservative treatment can be. Since then he has furthered his passion for physical health and fitness by staying active in recreational weight lifting and competed in several bodybuilding competitions throughout the northwest. Since then he attended the College of Southern Idaho and Idaho State University where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Physical Education and completed his Doctorate of Physical (DPT) at the University of Jamestown in North Dakota in 2018. While attending the University of Jamestown he had the great opportunity to be a student physical therapist at two Rehab Authority clinics before he graduated. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and is excited to further is knowledge from the neck and back experts here at Rehab Authority. When Ryan isn’t in the clinic cracking jokes and treating patients you can find him spending time at the local gym or exploring the amazing outdoors that Idaho has to offer.
Hanson called the police as a precaution, though it turned out to be fairly uneventful: “He came into my backyard. I wasn’t allowing it. He called me a coward because I wouldn’t debate the Holocaust.” Hanson told Jones to leave, and added, referring to the American flag hat Jones was wearing that day, “I told him he didn’t deserve to wear a hat with the flag on it.” Upon departing, Jones left some literature with Hanson, which Hanson gently described as “kooky stuff” about how women shouldn’t play in the NFL.

The MedX Lumbar Extension Machine has been extensively researched and studied at the University of Florida. Tests show remarkable increases in lasting strength with the use of this equipment. In fact, recently published scientific research dramatically validates the efficacy of MedX rehabilitation of chronic low back pain. A study published in the January 1999 edition of the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation showed that 35 or 38 patients recommended for spinal surgery were able to forego the surgery following 21 MedX sessions over a 10 to 12-week span. Although the study does not prove that increased strength prevents surgery, it does suggest that certain people can avoid surgery with proper spinal exercise therapy.
Hanson, who describes himself as “center-left” on most issues, is also uninspired by Lipinski, who has held his seat since 2005. Hanson speculates that Lipinksi has mainly held on so long because his father held the seat before him. (Lipinski is best known as being a conservative, anti-abortion Democrat and narrowly won his own primary over Marie Newman, a businesswoman.)
Injury can also be caused by doing the wrong type of exercises. Exercise done with great force, strain not only the muscles, but the joints and the connective tissue. In one single instant of great force one can sustain an injury that will heal. Those injuries often come back to haunt you. The injured joint is never quite the same as it was before the injury.

Jones traveled and 'adventured' widely, occasionally with friend and fellow adventurer Roy Pinney (Jones's cameraman for a syndicated TV series called Wild Cargo), setting up camp for two years or so at a time in different places such as Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and Mexico City. His motto was "younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles."[This quote needs a citation] Jones's Lake Helen, Florida, Nautilus building was the home of Gomek, an 18-foot salt water crocodile that Jones was trying to grow to world record size. He was also an aficionado of poisonous spiders and reptiles, a large collection of which was also housed in the Nautilus building. He ran a business that involved the importation of a variety of wild animals, ranging from tropical fish to snakes, parrots and monkeys. His daughter had a full-grown black panther that had free run of the house and even slept with her.[citation needed] He once retrofitted several of his jumbo jets in order to transport 63 baby elephants, that had been orphaned in Africa, to his Jumbo Lair compound in Florida. Jones filmed the entire operation for television and entitled it Operation Elephant.
This equipment effectively stabilizes the torso to achieve muscle isolation. The computerized equipment provides a comparison of the patient's strength and range of motion (ROM) to age and gender matched norms. A typical MedX program is 2 times a week for 4 weeks. It consists of an initial test, 3 1/2 weeks of training, and then a progress test which is compared to the initial test. Upon completion of the MedX program, all patients are instructed on exercise programs to keep their back and/or neck strong. Patients are also offered a reduced price membership to Carroll Fitness World and a space (if wanted) on our "MedX Wall of Fame."

Jones — a Holocaust denier, anti-Semite, neo-Nazi and white supremacist — is running unopposed as a GOP candidate in a west suburban-based U.S. House race. That means any primary voter in the 3rd Congressional District who pulls a Republican ballot for the Illinois primary will see only Jones’ name listed. He’ll win the primary by default. The man who once dressed as a Nazi to march in Skokie will win a Republican primary.

A power wheelchair is a wheelchair that is propelled by an electric motor rather than manual power.  Motorized wheelchairs are powered with rechargeable batteries and the user will control the mobility with a joystick.  The chair will move in the direction that the joystick is pointed.  Motorized wheelchairs are useful for those that may not be able to manually propel themselves or who may need to travel longer distances.
MedX reduces the friction of traditional equipment from 30% to 0 and 5% friction. This makes a big difference in the ‘positive’ and ‘negative’ phases of resistance–when you push the weight up, and when you let it back down again.  If you had 100 pounds on a machine with 2% friction, you would be pushing 102 pounds during the positive phase of the movement and resisting 98 pounds during the negative phase. This is a four pound difference between pushing the weight up and letting it down. On traditional equipment, with 30% friction, that 100 pounds turns into you having to push 130 pounds during the positive phase and resisting 70 pounds during the negative phase, for a total difference of 60 pounds. That gives your muscles plenty of time to recover on the downswing, which severely impacts your ability to properly stimulate your muscles.
By 1984, approximately 4,700 Nautilus Fitness Centers covered the United States. Complete lines of the equipment were the choice in physical rehabilitation centers, professional sports teams training rooms, colleges, high schools, and private facilities, despite the belief of a large majority of weight-training experts that traditional training with free weights produced superior results.
